Douglas's Story

Life I am currently living in Moore, Oklahoma. I worked at General Motors for 27 years. I am now retiring from G.M. I am divorced. I have a son Eric who is 24. I have one son in Texas, Shane. I one day plan to move onto 5 acres I am buying in country. I am a born-again Christian. I got saved in 1980. I attend a Assembly of God church, Crossroads Cathedral. The biggest event was getting saved. I gave up the bars and clubs and my life has direction. Life is good. I went to Philippines last year and met Cora who I planned to marry. However, things have changed. I started to see things differently with her and felt it was better that we part. I now have another filipina gf named Imee. I met her while in political chat. I talked to her about being born again and she got saved with glorious results. She was a muslim. Now she attends every bible study she can and goes to all their prayer meetings. She attends a born again church that her friend had tried to get her to go to for years. She used to sing in band and now is singing for God. She will be singing solo in big multi-church concert soon. I am going to see her in December, God willing. I am excited to see the Philippines again. I plan to take a lot of pics and will post some here. She lives in Bataan on Luzon. Bataan, will forever be remembered for the Americans that died there at the hands of the Japanese during World War II. Remember the Bataan death march? Thousands of soldiers were killed by Japanese who viewed the Americans as weak for allowing themselves to be captured and not dying fighting. Douglas McArthur returned as promised and pushed the Japanese out of the Philippines. In the Philippines no matter what your name is, you become "Joe". Everywhere last year I heard "hiya joe". The Philippines is a third world country. I saw in Manila the contrast of the rich and the very poor. Corruption keeps filipinos impoverished but they remain proud and happy. ery establishment has armed guards that check people but not foreigners. Foreigners represent money. Foreigners are given the red carpet treatment but cross the law and you will pay bigtime. No matter if you are in the right or not, you lose against a local. You will pay. Young girls will sometimes try to entrap foreigners, ie; visiting your room and wanting in with some excuse and then you find the police coming in a few seconds later and yourself under arrest. Everyone wins on their side. The girl gets her money out of you, the police, the judge, lawyer etc. If ever you go there be careful to not be entrapped. If your a pedofile then you deserve it. Aids is rampant among the prostitutes there and there are many there willing to show you a good time. No I didn't go to any prostitutes. I was very cautious and always had an escort wherever I went. I went there thinking that Mindanao was the most dangerous place in Philippines because of the Abu-Sayif Islamic terrorists, but I learned that Manila is more dangerous because of the criminal element that will do anything. Despite the dangers from criminals, terrorists, and food poisening I am really looking forward to returning. Imee wants to pay for everything when I get there but I can't allow that. She has a very generous nature. She wants me to talk to her sister who is also a muslim about Jesus. I will be praying about this ahead of time and really am already. If you want to pray for her sister, her christian name is Vicky, her Islamic name is Sarah. I pray that the name Sarah will be dropped. Imee's Islamic name was also Sarah. It is customary to be given a Arabic name at time of conversion to Islam. Imee has a son that was born during her stay in Saudi Arabia and his name is Omar (he is 10). Vicky, Imee and Omar all speak Arabic. It is also part of the Islamic faith that you have to learn Arabic. Anyway, Imee has been set free by the blood of the Lamb. I will post more pics later.
