Douglas's Story

Born and raised in Salina, Douglas has lived in Acton, Massachusetts since 1968. Douglas's schools include Salina High followed by year and half at Kansas Wesleyan Univ and graduating from Transylvania Univ (Studio and Theatre Arts) in Lexington, KY. Douglas retired (1997) after 6 years as an artist in the Army's Security Agency and 24 years as a civil service employee of the U.S. Federal Government. One of Douglas's favorite quotes is: "Waste Not, Want Not", "If You've Nothing to Do, Pick up a Broom", and "Let's not, but say we did!". Doug's the artistic director of an amateur theater company 'Nashoba Players' in Westford, MA. Recently...Expand for more
he designed for a production for another company the 'Lexington Players' titled: "The Mountaintop" a fictitious story of MLK's last night before his tragic assassination. It won at a national competition and has been chosen to represent the US this June 2022 at a world theatre festival in Florida. Previous productions for the same company, "Who Will Sing for Lena", won an invitation to represent the US at the World Theater Festival in Monaco this past Aug 2021 Besides Monaco, Doug has traveled extensively from Scotland/England and France to Greece and Turkey. Doug keeps physically active as an arena crewman for the amateur rodeo circuit.
