Douglas's Story
Hello Old Friends,
Each year that passes causes me to think more fondly of growing up with all of you in Picayune. We were one of the last generations that could enjoy the innocence of youth. And in that era Picayune was a very nice little town: clean, with lots of amenities that other small towns didn't have. We had the best football stadium, a great high school, a terrific YMCA, a wonderful hospital and library, and, of course, the boulevard. Those of you with whom I shared all those things will always hold a special place in my memories.

ord and work for Ole Miss, teaching leadership to school administrators. I also am a partner in a consulting firm in Birmingham and still do a lot of work with business and industry. Sandy (Shaw) is still my wife, the only one who could have put up with me all these years (we started dating at Picayune High). We have two kids: Sean is married and will start at Tulane Law School in September (a late bloomer; he is 33) and Gayle, who is married with two kids and lives in the Dallas area. At the present, other than getting fatter and older, my health is sound, although I have lymphoma. I was given a year to live eight years ago, so I enjoy waking up each morning.
