Douglas's Story
Retired Lecturer in Electronics Engineering now living in DeForest House, Coolfore, Monasterboice, County Louth, Ireland. I have lived in Ireland since 1973. It is a most agreeable home but I still manage on a yearly basis to return to the States my birthplace and home. These days my siblings all live in Connecticut so this is where I normally head for. Except for a whistle stop break in 2013, I have not been in D.C. for nearly fifty years but would hope to pay a visit to the city of my birth sometime in spring 2015.
University of New Mexico is remember with great fondness. I managed to pay a visit in 2013 after nearly 45 years.
My hobby is amateur radio and I hold the call sign EI2CN. While at Yorktown H.S. the callsign was K4WQZ. So this is a hobby which led from my teens to my profession and sti...Expand for more
ll provides enjoyment in retirement. If you go to QRZ.COM, more information and photos are available by entering my call sign EI2CN for the search.
My sister Mary Ellen Turnbull graduated from Yorktown, H.S. two years after my class in 1964.
Life has been kind and my health is still pretty good. My lifestyle is better than ever expected. Some of my other interests are a micro-wood, gardening and reading. Walking and stretching type exercises for the core are my daily routine.
My wife's name is Anne and she is from Co. Cork. She is a retired school teacher from the local primary school so we are well integrated into our community and have lived in the present house since 1980.
So my friends both University of New Mexico and Yorktown have been most kind to me. Thank you for reading this small clip.
