Douglas's Story
After high school ended up drafted into the army. Got my brains April 2 1966 setting at fort ord. told them I didn't want to be an officer unless they let me fly. Couldn't see well enough so I asked to be a mechanic on one" door gunner" So they sent me to lean how to shoot them down. Lucked out an. Ended up in Okinawa we were supposed to go on to vet nam but didn't. During that time had two sons. Always wanted to fly so I built my own plane in my garage and flew it for 7 years till I blew an engine coming out now paso Robles and crashed it . Yes the wife was on board. Talk about a great wife she told me to go ahead an get another one with a better engine. And she still flys with me. What are the chances of crashing a plane again?
