Douglas's Story

Following High School I attended Calvin College for three years, where I met my wife Pam (De Horn, a Chicago Christian grad, class of '75) during my second year. I transferred to Purdue University (West Lafayette) in 1979 where I roomed for two years with my cousin Tim Sittema and graduated in 1981. Married Pam in the fall of 1981. Spent 13 years at Heller Financial working in Communications Finance (lending money to media companies), followed by 12 years at Rabobank International running a media finance unit for this Dutch (Netherlands based) bank. Recently left the bank and am now pursuing my own...Expand for more
business specializing in electrical power conditioning equipment. Pam and I lived for 24 years in South Holland and moved in spring of 2007 to Munster, Indiana where we now live next to the Lansing airport. We have three great kids, a son and two daughters, as well as a pet cat. Pam and I are youth group sponsors for Oak Glen URC and Pam also works as a hospice volunteer locally. I am an NRA certified firearms instructor and teach classes about once a week at Deb's Gun Range in Hammond. My hobby is shooting rifles and pistols (no, I won't tell you how many I own) and I also enjoy hunting pheasant.
