Douglas's Story
Life
Remember high school days, the good bad and ugly. Drawbacks are loosing contact with old friends. Retired from military, then became a merchant Captain. Worked for NOAA on the equator, and in Alaska, and was happy, but not at home. Went back to work for the Government undersea research and development for underwater acoustic research as a Merchant Captain,. Finally I decided it was time to stay land based, took over testing program as North West Test Director , inspecting, testing, new prototype equipment used in research and development, explosive qualified, underwater recovery cranes, and remotely operated unmanned vehicles. lives, with this change I decided I needed to give back to the community, Jumping back to work as an environmental cleaner in the medical field, disinfecting hospitals and clinics, taking care of bio hazards, still work part time, and for fun I am refurbishing and 1969 VW Bug.
Once married, widowed, and now remarried, One step child, 2 grandsons, 1 grand daughter, 1 step granddaughter, and 1 great grandson. I get to visit, but have to travel all over the world to do so.
Living in Washington in my little oasis, growing flowers, doing gardening, refurbishing Volkswagens, riding around in a RV traveling when I feel like it, and still living life to the fullest, Feel like visiting,......Anytime, come on up, have the room, you will love it.
