Douglas's Story
Life is good. After the great times at NPHS I attended Phoenix College for a year and then on to ASU. Connie (White), class of '60, and I got married in 1962 she is still putting up with me. This year will be our 48th anniversary. We had two daughters and they are both married with two kids each. One lives in the Ft. Lauderdale area, married to a football coach, currently with the Miami Dolphins. The other lives North of San Francisco in the great little town of Kentfield. She is married to one of those evil Goldman Sachs guys. So we have great places to visit. I always tell my daughters that they did a much better job of picking a husband then their mother did. Connie and I have made the old person progression from running to tennis to now golf. Connie is addicted so I am under a lot of pressure and usually come out on the losing side. We have never left Phoenix, but we did build a summer home with our daughters and their hu...Expand for more
sbands in Sunriver, Oregon. We all love it there and play a lot of golf. I'm also learning how to fly fish. I'm still working but I'm under pressure to hang it up. The problem is that Connie has the fastest Debit card in the West. The other thing is that I really enjoy my job. We still see many of our old North High friends.
That's my story and I'm sticking with it!
OK, the above is 7 years old so thought a update was called for. I did retire in 2011 but still involved as a consultant. Have given up tennis for pickleball. Connie has given up her debit card for a credit card with no change in spending but I at least get miles. Still play a lot of golf and still spend our summers in Oregon. Can't wait for the day that a driverless car can drive us to Oregon. This year will be anniversary 55 and I'm trying to convince Connie that it is the year for Tupperware but not having much luck. Still upright and active and enjoying life.
