Dewayne's Story

I avoid this site & can't see who's posted info. I no longer check the Classmates site. Please don't waste time & effort trying to communicate w/ me here. Use this instead: rddhoutx at h-0-t maildotcom. If you truly need to contact me for an emergency or just want to talk for a few minutes, seven, one, three, five, five, seven, seven, six, eight, nine. If i don't answer, please leave me a message. I now get too many spam/junk calls daily. If I don't recognise the number I won't answer So be persistent & leave voicemail. Alles klar? Sehr gut ! I know I'm bad about spending money but I've decided not to waste it on this site. In the Spring of 2014, I heightened my public profile by setting up a very visible account on Facebook as RD Dozier. If you wish, feel free to visit, read my often snarky/sarcastic commentaries and communicate w/ me there. Also have an even snarkier account on Twitter. It's under a pseudonym. You'll have to ask to get it. After all these years, Hillwood High School and Vanderbilt University grad finally "does good" and something worth sharing. Teacher: What did you do during your summer vacation, young man? Student: Well, teacher, during my summer vacation I wrote a book. To be honest, it took longer than a summer. It was about nine months, to be precise. In December 2012, I published a novel under the pseudonym Kurt M. V. Rich. The title is: Chasing the Golden Hoard: The Story of the Lydian Hoard. A Tale of Theft, Repatriation, Greed & Deceit. As of mid- December 2012, the book is now available both hardback and paperback formats, sold through all Amazon sites worldwide and Barnes & Noble online services. Also should be available in e-book formats of iTunes, Nook and Kindle. The manuscript is over 300k words and 780 pages. For more info on the historical subject, check out the topic of the Lydian Hoard (Karun Treasure) on Wikipedia or drop me an email. The true story of the Lydian Hoard (the Karun Treasure, in Turkish) is actually stranger than fiction. My book won't replace J K Rowling as a best selling author and both "Gone With The Wind" and "To Kill a Mockingbird" are still safe as the Great American Novel. Nevertheless, it's still a very good read. In 2013, I wrote "R...Expand for more
e-Creating the Cretaceous." The anti-Jurassic Park theme park & petting zoo docile dinosaurs book. Now, if I could only sell one-half as many books as J K Rowling did! I'd even settle for one-third. Currently the book is being reviewed by two Turkish publishing companies. I hope to have it translated and published in Turkey as well. Sorry, but for those who remember him (he's going nameless here), I've already contacted my former Turkish student from George Mason HS about finding a translator and publisher. He's been of NO help to me. If anyone has connexions with a Turkish publisher or translator, please let me know. Yesterday, 3 March 2013, I began my second novel, with solid ideas for a third book on the back burner. Am now also celebrating the release of my second book, "Re-Creating the Cretaceous," published in early Sept 2013. Available from all Amazon sites worldwide, plus Barnes & Noble, Google and in e-book format for Nook, Kindle and iPad. Forget Jurassic Park 4, the disappointing sequels, and the 11 year wait for a realistic thriller. Tightly written and well researched, "Re-Creating the Cretaceous: A Tale of Survival" is the story Hollywood does NOT want you to read. Am also working on having the story translated into Spanish and published in Central and South America. I could also use help with the Spanish translation and someone who knows a reputable international Spanish language publisher. The same goes for a translation of the book into Japanese and Mandarin Chinese. Given the fact George Mason High School's semi-annual alumni publication 'The Mustang Review' is now on life support, e-mail to individual GMHS alumni and class representatives is the only way I have to contact anyone from GMHS. However, I understand the GMHS class of '74 will hold a reunion dinner at Grevey's Restaurant on Arlington Boulevard late next June 2014. Sanity and good health prevailing, I hope to attend and also spend a few days back in the metro DC area. I'd also love to meet and talk with my Bullis School students (classes of '76 and '77) while I'm in the area. Feel free to contact me at the e-mail or cell listed above so we can share lunch, dinner, coffee or a few drinks and catch up on ancient history..
