David's Story
Life...I don't exactly know where to start, I retired from the United States Army after 21 1/2 years, four times around the world, two darling daughters Konica and Tse'lani, nine months dodging bullets during Operation Desert Storm/Sheild and a Bronze Star, oh lets not forget duty in the Pentagon. Finally retiring and moved back to Atlanta which was ironically where I started my military career in 1977 at Ft. Gillem, Georgia. I am currently single and having the time of my life enjoying all of God's blessings. I work as a Human Resources Specialist for the VA Hospital, if you can really call that work. It is a devine joy to give back to some of the guys that I served with and those that paved the road that I walk on today. Huah. And I will always be a Dog Faced Soldier (3rd Infantry Division). I still keep in touch with some of our classmates like Douglas Young, Cheryl Screen and her husband Tony Leakes (my BFF's) and Carlton Gallup, and since the reunion in February Sonya Bussy, Allison Bowles (who put the event together for the class of 77) Ellis Pugh (love you Sergeant Major), and the fomidable Brad Ursy who I have undying respect for (you set it off for us man, just wanted to say thanks). As a hobby I am the Executive Producer and Associate Director of a local community soap opera entitled "Love Always Charleston" out of Atlanta where we are in our 9th year, which keeps me on the road, three weekends in Atlanta, one weekend in Charleston I am in Augusta every cha...Expand for more
nce I get. I completed my first book of poetry entitled "Can You Hear The Drums" a few years ago and finished my first novel entitled "Augusta Nights, The Saga of Armstrong Prentice" in 2011. The new book talks a lot about Augusta and about a family headed by the mogul Armstrong Prentice, it is being written as a trilogy and hopefully a made for TV movie, hell we plan to shoot it ourselves and send it to La La Land, but even if that doesn't happen just to finally be finished with it will be an accomplishment. The show "Love Always Charleston" has been picked up for another season with Comcast in Atlanta and we are branching out again to include video production, which we have been doing already but we will publicize and market it now.
My greatest accomplishment is having my baby girl Tse'lani Sekoya Drew as a senior this year and graduating and get this, she wants to be a CIA agent screw you Angelina Jolie but its all good. Look out University of Maryland a Drew is on the way. I also have a page on Blackplanet under drewexec and on iseecolor under my name. Peace and many blessings in 2009. I'll holla.
