Cindy's Story
Life
I currently live in Marlboro. I've been married for twenty-three years and my thirteen-year-old son Patrick is the light in my life. I am an avid reader and love music (what did we do before iPod?) and movies. My biggest love, though, is spending time in the woods and at the beach. It provides balance and perspective.
My secret indulgence is decorating shows.
College
I earned my BA in Sociology in 1976. During the 1980s, I earned 46 credits toward an MBA in Management but never completed the program after both of my parents were diagnosed with cancer at the same time. In 2005, I earned my Masters in Organization Development.
Workplace
I am currently an independent consultant working on multiple organization development assignments while forming a partnership with my best work friend and partner in crime for the past six years (God help us both!) It's a lot of fun and a lot of risk. I am also writing a book on my brother and the guys he knows professionally - they are tuna fishermen and it is one of the most dangerous professions. These guys can tell you stories that make your hair stand on end and none of i...Expand for more
t is exaggerated. They have all lived through Perfect Storm scenarios ... and they all knew guys who didn't live through them.
My background is in change management, competency management, performance management, talent review and succession, organization assessment and restructuring, process improvement, learning and development, project management, and IT systems design. I started my career as an IT person, moved into quality and process improvement, into online help systems, into technical training and e-learning, into leadership development, and then into strategic HR. I guess at the heart of all of this is my need to build systems. Even as a kid, I would daydream really cool inventions. As an adult, I get very passionate about building systems ... business structures, IT applications, you name it. Some years ago, following a crazy amount of personality testing at the Center for Creative Leadership, I found out why. I am just wired to be an integrator and to see patterns and systems. Some people see stars ... I see constellations. I have worked for several large companies, primarily in financial services and insurance.
