Laurie's Story
Life
I graduated from SDSU in 1993 and moved to San Antonio where I began my career as a Social Worker. In 1995, I moved to Hawaii and fell in love with the islands. The spirit of Aloha is indescribable. In 1997, I married a local boy there (Joel) and our daughter, Mikayla Kulani, was born in Honolulu the following year. ts retired. Our son, Jaden Kapena, was born in Austin in 2001. We currently live in Kyle, Texas which is between Austin and San Antonio. God has blessed me with an incredible husband and amazing children. They are my world. I'm a busy soccer mom and continue to work part-time as a social worker for Casey Family Programs, where I've worked since 1999. I'm still a sun baby and really miss the beaches of Hawaii and California.
