Dwayne's Story

After spending many years helping local and state government agencies better design, build, operate and maintain our nation's critical infrastructure (highways, bridges, water, waste water and storm drainage systems) I have moved into a new realm. Now I use my sales & business talents to help non-profit organizations raise money. My favorite is helping folks in rural Kenya find money to drill water wells. Access to clean water is a critical issue throughout the develping world. In Sub-Saharan Africa 288,000,000 people do not have access to clean water. 10% of children under age 5 (at any given time) are suffering the effects of poor water and sanitation. We lose 4,500 kids globally every day as they die from preventable disease related to water and snitation. Every $1 spent solving water and sanitation issue...Expand for more
s (in the developing world) saves another $8 in medical costs. Children in the developing world spend their day walking miles to find and retrieve water for their family. This keeps them out of school, then if the water they find is contaminated surface water, they get sick and may die if untreated. This is no way to live. So I have in friends in Kenya and this is my work. In time I imagine my area of focus will expand from Kenya. Maybe you want to help us as we raise money to drill for water at orphanages, schools and elsewhere; or as we raise money to buy new equipment - operational drilling rigs are scarce in Kenya. We also fix existing wells. Look for Project Eleos on the internet. In my spare time I serve in a few local Christian groups and spend some of spare time writing on various Christian topics.
