Dwayne's Story

I lived in the Lon, on 81st and University (the town houses behind Woodlawn) next door to Shron Howard, but I went to school at Mendel for two years, and then followed my hommie Nate Rhodes to Fenger. Someone should have made my ass go to Hirsh, since I lived within walking distance, and most of my friends went to Hirsh; needless to say I dropped out and went to work for Nate's folks, his uncle Ray McCoy (Lisa-Ray's dad) at the Dunes Motel, and the Zanzabar motels which were owned by Mr. McCoy.I moved to California in late 1979 (got more info on the time-line comments), made a baby there in 1980, and ran like hell back to Chicago, (young dumb-ass), got my GED, and was then influenced by my home-girl Tuesday (Barbette)to go to Kennedy-King. Didn't graduate, (too much happy plant and partying, but I managed to obtain 18 credit hours, a feat for my mental state at that time! After getting into a real issue with a street gang / religious group, I decided to join the U.S Army, again running like hell to get out of Chicago this time. The 18 credit hours was my saving grace, because the Army didn't accept GED grads. I had actually talked some of my homies into joining the U.S Marines (they graduated from Hirsh 3 years before my anticipated graduation date, which never came. Gary Holiday, Chris and (Ski), were all taken by my "I'm joining the Marines" sles pitch. Anyway, ended up going to Germany for 2 years, and then to Fayettville, NC for 2 years. When I found out that there were places in the United States were it didn't snow in December, January, or February, I vowed to never live in Chicago again, but to visit during the warm months. My marital escapades / episodes began after I left the Army (honorable discharge), starting with my next door neighbor, Shron Howard, first wife. Got married again in 1990, couldn't get viable employment so I began giving seminars on how to get abandoned properties (mostly apartment buildings) being given away by the city of Chicago, and on property tax abatement seminars, for which I wrote books, my first published works for both seminars. In 1997 I started a technical training institute (The Citi) The Career Institute of Technology Innovation, Inc, and started training my people of all ages in the technology field, with the commitment to get them employed. I didn't make much money, most of the students just needed a job and couldn't afford tuition. In 1998 I moved the ATL...Expand for more
, I was a network engineer for Sun Trust Bank, (all of my engineer training was self taught, I never took one college class to learn computer / network technologies). In 1999 I re-started my school in my home in Jonesboro Georgia, and after 6 months moved to a commercial facility averaging 60 students per month with gross annual sales topping 1.2 million, with 10 full-time and 4 part-time instructors, and a sales force army. I lost that business in 2001, with more than 10 million dollars tied up in government contracts for education (WIA Act), after the September 11th tragedy, I can't complain, I didn't lose any loved ones in that horrible indecent. I was over $500,000 in debt after selling off assets, personal and business (by-by Bentley, and 10,000 sq ft home), oh yeah and by-by second wife, (I ain't sayin she's no gold digga, but she ain't messin with no broke n..) Yep that song was made for me, she disappeared with my two beautiful children from this 13 year long marriage, and I wouldn't find them for 5 years, not recognizing them when I finally saw them, but that's another story. I lost everything, and was given a helping hand by my best friend, (now my 3rd and last wife, my soul-mate), but she was also abandoned by he husband, left with three boys, and even though we held on with all that was within us, we ended up homeless, I mean really homeless, living in abandoned homes for a while, but long story short, we had to leave Georgia, but I vowed to my friend, and then my wife that we would return and I would buy her a home. after more than two years I was able to return to Atlanta, on a contract but my wife and family were still in New Orleans, so I drove to work in the ATL on Sunday, slept in my car during the week days, (but always looking good, and smelling fresh), and drove to New Orleans on the weekends. And after 3 months of that bull, I got a long term contract with HP, and in 2006 I bought my wify that house (in my photo album). I am working on my 3rd published book, and I now am chairman and CEO of NetOne Data Solutions, LLC (netonedata.com)a systems integration firm, and CEO of Citi Business Group, LLC (citibusinessgroup.com), a small business consulting firm and I am currently embarking on a couple of promising contracts. I hope to switch from publishing business books, to a novel next year, but I will keep you posted, thanks for reading this brief summation of my wacky life, holla!!
