E.Taleshea's Story
Life
Hi guys, it's TaLeshea a.k.a. "T" (Everybody's Big Sister). Since our last hoorah in the Spring of 1989, I received my B.A. in Mass Media Arts from CAU and returned later in 1997 to get my M.A. in School Counseling. I've returned to our beloved Atlanta Public School System as a school counselor at Parks Middle School. Yep, I'm really good at it. You guys gave me plenty of practice. I did the married thing (didn't work), life goes on. I own a home in Douglasville, Georgia and enjoy quiet evenings on the homefront and working with my church or doing the "girlfriends" thing. Shyrhonda (Smith) Pleasant and I still are the best of friends and enjoy swapping stories about how you all kept us in stiches with your many antics. Oh, did I mention that she and I are line sisters (Deltas of course). I could tell you guys about all the community stuff I'm doing or the lives I'm changing for the better, but what really matters is that I am alive and kicking and looking forward to reconnecting with my old school friends from the Big D. If you're wondering what happened with Xavier(Anthony), we still talk weekly, we're enjoying the full benefit of being true...Expand for more
friends and dusting each other off each time life tries to knock us down (but that's it - he has a wonderful wife and 3 kids who absolutely adore him). Yes, I'm still writing and even published a book of poetry while at CAU. So in a nutchell, I advanced my studies with a Master's at CAU, found myself single again after a 4-yr. marriage and am now giving back to our community as a school counselor and youth advisor for my church. I was recently inducted into the National Coalition of 100 Black Women (Mecca Chapter) in May and I am eagerly anticipated being of greater service to the communities who need it. Do I miss my 'ole school mates? Believe that!!!! So don't hesitate to say "hey".
School
My biggest crush came true with Xavier Anthony. My best memory was being his date for our Sr. Prom. It was royal!!!
If I could do it all over again, it would be the junior class trip. Florida just hasn't been the same since we stopped in.
The best school memories were morning UNO games, A lunch, cheering Clayton and Damien on on the football field, sharing my birthday with Jonathan Smith and hanging out in the student parking lot on warm afternoons.
