Earl's Story
Left school to join USMC. That lasted a year, then did different odd jobs for awhile until my second marriage then I got into management with Payless Shoes. Did different managerial jobs for awhile then landed in industrial production, which led to maintenance. Did that for a few years until I got a job at a powerplant as an operator. That was a very high-paid 6...Expand for more
years (for the Valley, any way). Then when that was over and I was down to being a welder's helper, I was diagnosed with kidney disease, which progressed to kidney failure and my being classified as diabled. I am on dialysis now, and probably will be for what years remain to me. So, now I don't work, collect social security, and look for ways to spend my time.
