James's Story

Life James C. Earl-Rockefeller, III, born and raised in San Francisco, California began his career in entertainment at a young age. During Jr. High school, he was a member of the Benjamin Franklin Middle School's band where he played first tenor saxophone. Rocke (as nicknamed by friends) attended George Washington High School where he was active in band, R.O.T.C., drama and track. He was also a member of a pop-locking dance group that performed in numerous talent shows in the bay area. Immediately following high school, Rocke joined the US Army Reserves where he studied telecommunications. His studies also include City College of San Francisco in Dramatic and Improvisational Arts and Laney College in Oakland, CA for Television Production. He has worked and/or produced for Viacom Cityvisions Channel 25, The Soulbeat Television Network, KTOP the City of Oakland's government channel, CableNet TV at the University of California at Hayward, KPST 66 (The Home Shopping Network and Mandarin Programming), HBO, PAX and versed in all aspects of television including; commercial, non-commercial, broadcast, cable, public and leased access, government, educational, religious and foreign TV. 85. He has shared the stage with comedians; Mark Curry, Laura Hayes, Bernie Mac, DL Hughley, Eddie Griffin and other top named performers. He appeared on the first season of BET's "Comic View" and a wealth of local movie and television productions. He began producing music television programming at a San Francisco community access station in 1989. Rocke created the concept of VJTV The Visual Radio NETWORK in 1995 pitching ideas with friends and producers he worked with. VJTV is a music entertainment network with a strong emphasis on local talent and small businesses. VJTV has featured; Quincy Jones, Berry Gordy, Robert Johnson (Founder BET), Russell Simmons, Magic Johnson, Smokey Robinson, Rick James, Debbie Allen, Johnnie Cochran, Vivica A. Fox, George Clinton, Mary J. Blige, Outkast, Jill Scott, Dramatics, Confunshun, Mary Wilson, New Edition, Teddy Riley, Dwayne Wiggins, Mike Tyson, El DeBarge, Tachina Arnold and Lakeside to name a few. VJTV The Visual Radio NETWORK plans to expand to other markets around the country offering performing artist and small businesses an opportunity to market their business, product or service to a vast audience.
