Bio for Ed Carnes
Ed, a graduate of Keyport HS Class of 1962, enlisted in 1965 and was selected to attend Field Artillery OCS in 1967. He was commissioned a second lieutenant in June 1967.
Ed was assigned as Forward Observer to A Co, 2-39 Infantry, 9th ID from October 1969 to February 1969 and completed his tour as 2-39th Artillery LNO and 9th Division LNO. Among his many decorations he was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star, Bron...Expand for more

Ed served for 23 years of active duty retiring in 1988. Ed is a member of the Infantry Hall of Fame and the Field Artillery OCS Hall of Fame. He continues to support soldiers as an officer with the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) and The Fisher House Foundation, Inc., conducting fund raising activities. Ed and wife, Carol, reside in Sarasota, Florida.
