Ed's Story

Hello, I need help finding a friend I am 72 years old, married for 46 years, Vietnam Vet. US NAVY. University of Dayton Class of 1973. The rest is a long story. I covered a lot of territory in 72 years. I am looking for help finding the person that I took to her senior Prom. I don't remember her name sadly. She was in the Class of 1969. I remembered that I rented a 1969 Grand Prix for the Prom. We double dated. Oh, and I worked at Sears at the Salem Mall store. She also worked part-time there in Customer service. I had always thought she was very beautiful but I figured there was no way she would ever go on a date with me. One day the guys were kidding me about my shyness to even talk to her. Well with that, I marched right back to Customer Service and ………she said yes. WOW We had dated for three or four months when she asked if I would take her to her Senior Prom. When my heart started beating again, I said I would be honored. She is tall, almost six feet, brunette hair, pretty blue eyes and a wonderful sweet personality. Please don’t ask me how I screwed this up so badly. I was immature and very shy. Between then and now is a long story that would take a long time to tell. I determined that the Salem Mall was in the Trotwood-Madison school district so I searched for the Class of 69 at the TM High School. A web search took me to a site called Classmates. I ended up buying the 69 year book for fifty bu...Expand for more
cks. I figured I would just look at the senior class pictures and find the prettiest girl and at least I would have her median name. I didn’t count on there being so many pretty girls in one class. I did find out that the theme of the Prom was “Hawaii” which triggered some of the few remaining functioning brain cells I have access to. Presently, I know that she was in the Class of 1969 at the Trotwood-Madison High school. I know she is a tall, six foot, Brunette with blue eyes. She is a beautiful person with a wonderful sweet personality. I saw her at the Salem Mall a couple of weeks later. She asked why I had not called her. I said I thought she was unhappy with me. She said that she was not and I promised to call her soon. I never did call her. I really need to tell her how sorry I am for not calling her. It is a long story. As I said I screwed up really badly. I had not thought about her in a long time. One night about three months ago I was setting on the toilet and a sudden cloud of sadness crashed in on me. Out of nowhere she was inside my mind. It made me cry to think of what I had done. I know you can’t go back but I need to tell her how sorry I am and I need to know if she is okay. I realize this is kind of hopeless but I have to try. I will be forever in your debt if you can help me take a few steps closer to finding her. I am europabase on a hot mail provider. Very Sincerely, Ed Moon

Hi Beth, This is the Navy's highest honor. If you asked, I could sink her ship. The rats always drown when the ship goes down.
