I attended Highland School 1948-1953, Medlock School 1953-1958, Druid Hills 1958-1962, Georgia State 1962-1965, and Atlanta Law School 1969-1970. I currently reside in Covington, Newton County. I am back "home" after 25 years in the Philadelphia area. My work career started with a 12-year stint at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, I moved to Philly in 1976 to take the position of Market Research Director for the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News. I have two children, a son, Ed born 1974, and a daughter, Wendy 1972. My grand children are Mason 1999 and Addison 2003. They live here in Covington. They call me Pops and I love them both dearly. They help me stay young. I am an avid deep-sea fisherman. I have fished around the world but I also enjoy heading to Lake Jackson a few miles from my house. My favorite locales include Quepos, Costa Rica; Vancouver BC; Halifax NS; The Red Sea; Key West, Fl; the New Jersey shore; and Apalachicola, Fl. I have a mounted sailfish replica, for billfish I am strictly catch and release. I also love to travel; my most memorable is Egypt with the wonderful antiquities there. I also spent ten days in Amsterdam, where I want to return. I have been to Canada, to Mexico several times. I love many Caribbean Islands; my very favorite is St. Maarten DWI. I am...Expand for more
still a rock and roller at heart but more in to the Americana, folk singer songwriter genre. Todd Snider, Kevn Kinney, Robert Earl Keen, Tommy Womack, Buddy Miller, James McMurtrey, and Will Kimbrough are at the top of my list. When any of my favorites are playing in Georgia, South Carolina, Western North Carolina, Tennessee, or Alabama I try to see their live shows. Greetings to all fellow Medlock scholars, does anyone remember the super nice Mrs. Camp or the very hot Mrs. Dickinson? I would love to hear from any of you drop me a line and say hello.
School
I attended Highland School 1948-1953, Medlock School 1953-1958, Druid Hills 1958-1962, Georgia State 1962-1965, and Atlanta Law School 1969-1970.
Workplace
While still at Georgia State I started 13-year stint with the Atlanta newspapers, first in accounting and then in Market Research. I moved to Philly in 1976 to take the position of Market Research Director for the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News. This as a very exciting position providing research support to two newsrooms, circulation, advertising, and the executive committe. I retired in 2001.I am enjoying the easy life now, I never realized how stressed I was until I stopped being stressed. I now do some consulting in Media Research and Real Estate but I pursue it only half-heartedly. In my early years I worked for Kroger Emory, Colonial North Decatur-Clairmont and Decatur, Winn Dixie Suburban Plaza, The YMCA, J F Campbell Construction, and West Lumber.
