Ed Brock:  

After MHS I attended UCLA on a football scholarship. I had joined the Army Reserve in 1971 under the delayed entry program and was attending training while playing football. I had my shoulder broken in my second year and was forced to leave the program. I lost my scholarship as a result and continued my education at Pacific University where I received my Bachelors in Business Management. I then entered the Army full time and attended the Drill Sergeant Academy at Fort Jackson, SC and was the 2nd honor graduate. Was stationed at numerous Army training posts all over the US. My final duty station was Ft Baker (Presidio of San Francisco) where I served as the Division Inspection Coordinator for the 91st Division. In 1997 the 91st Division was closed as a result of congressional budget restraints. Instead of transferring to Ft Lew Washington I decided to retire as a 1st Sergeant (E-8).
