this was a big nite out at the Roxy watchin 2 lane blacktop with james taylor, dennis wilson and warren oates
racing east from L.A. in a souped-up â55 Chevy are the wayward Driver and Mechanic (singer/songwriter James Taylor and the Beach Boysâ Dennis Wilson, in their only acting roles), accompanied by a tagalong Girl (Laurie Bird). Along the way, they meet Warren Oatesâs Pontiac GTO-driving wanderer and challenge him to a cross-country raceâthe prize: their carsâ pink slips. Yet no summary can do justice to the existential punch of Two-Lane Blacktop. Maverick director Monte Hellmanâs stripped-down narrative, gorgeous widescreen compositions, and sophisticated look at American male obsession make this one of the artistic high points of 1970s cinema, and possibly the greatest road movie ever made

i took a test ride by the mormon church on a sunday morning there in joe city and let loose on it a little bit. joe had i souped up pretty good when i snapped the throttle open i got the front wheel off the ground along with the attention of every one tha twas leavin church
where i live here in winslow i got a great view of the fireworks . i can sit out in the backyard and have a great view.
it hard to believe its been 40 years since we all graduated. its gone so fast. my daughter is gonna be 35 this year. she got her major in psychology at U of A.
me i graduated for nau in 72 and went to work for the railroad
missed my college graduation cause i was working.
danny wolfe jack reed gary jesperson were all ready working there when i got there in 77.
actually i managed to make some money and spent a lot of time with my family when my daughter was growing up.
im retired here in in '"THE SLOW" AS its called alot of people from hhs ended up over here so its always cool to run into them
