Eddie's Story

Life Let's see, where to start? School/Career: Graduated from Cross Keys in 1988, went to Emory University and got my B.S. in Chemistry in 1992. Went to the University of Utah...I know, I know...Utah? I don't get it either, but it is actually a nice place to live if you can overlook the cultural quirks (very hard at times). I graduated with my Ph.D. in Biology in 2001. I had somewhat of a weird transition from Graduate School to my first job. I actually started consulting for a small startup drug company while in Graduate school, got hired full-time, and finished my Ph.D. part-time while working full-time. Well, the little company is not doing so well (and I along with everyone else got laid off in October o...Expand for more
f 2005). I have now landed in my new gig at Human Genome Sciences, Inc. in Rockville, Maryland. I have been working as a Patent Agent in the Intellectual Property Department and will likely be going back to school for my law degree. Personal Life: My highschool sweetheart, Beth Sapp, and I got married in 1994. We bought a house together, sold it for profit when I lost my job, and are now renting again. Still happily married (or so I am told...Ouch!...Beth, quit hitting me!...just kidding baby!). Beth is working on her training to be a quilt appraiser (think antiques roadshow). We have a beautiful cat named, Fred. No human children yet, but it is about that time. Other than that we are hanging in there.
