One of Eddie's favorite quotes is:"Many of us saw religion as harmless nonsense. Beliefs might lack all supporting evidence but, we thought, if people needed a crutch for consolation, where's the harm? September 11th changed all that. Revealed faith is not harmless nonsense, it can be lethally dangerous nonsense. Dangerous because it gives people unshakeable confidence in their own righteousness. Dangerous because it gives them false courage to kill themselves, which automatically removes normal barriers to killing others. Dangerous because it teaches enmity to others labelled only by a difference of inherited tradition. And dangerous because we have all bought into a weird respect, which uniquely protects religion from normal criticism. Let's now stop being so damned respectful! -- Richard Dawkins, The Guardian (11 October 2001) "You know they lay down with their ugly wives in front of their ugly children and just look at their loser lives and they look at me and say I CAN'T PROCESS IT. Well no, you never will, stop trying, just sit back and enjoy the show." --Charlie Sheen "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." — Albert Einstein Hate is a four letter world. Love is a four letter lie. --Unknown No religion is complete without at least a little insanity. It is a fundamental requirement. They simply work by the principle that if enough people believe something, it is no longer insane or ridiculous. --Jason Blaha It's weird that photographers spend years or even a whole lifetime, trying to capture moments that added together, don't even amount to a couple of hours. -James Lalropui Keivom If I were not an atheist, I would choose to in a god who would choose to save people on the basis of the totality of their lives and not the pattern of their words. I think he [or she] would chose an honest and righteous atheist to a T.V. preacher whose every word is God, God, God and whose every deed is foul, foul, foul. --Isaac Asimov 1994 Having kids changes people. Doesn't always change'em into good people. --Qu Griffin 2010 Millions of innocent men, women, and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burned, tortured, fined, and imprisoned, yet we have not advanced one inch toward uniformity. What has been the effect of coercion? To make one half of the world fools and the other half hypocrites. -Thomas Jefferson Calling Atheism a religion is like calling bald a hair color. -Don Hirschberg “The future is always ideal: The fridge is stocked, the weather clear, the train runs on schedule and meetings end on time. Today, well, stuff happens.” - Hara Estroff Marano in Psychology Today " I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Underworld, except through me." - Meagan The Madam “Consider how hard it is to change yourself and you'll understand what little chance you have in trying to change others.” --unknown A casual stroll through the lunat...Expand for more
ic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything. --Nietzsche-- Only after disaster can we be resurrected. --Tyler Durdern-- It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything. --Tyler Durden-- “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” --Howard Thurman-- You Gain strength, experience and confidence by every experience where you have to stop and look fear in the face. You must do the thing you think you cannot. --Eleanor Roosevelt--". More about Eddie:"Hi! My name is Eddie, you probably met me at a concert, a rave or a live action RPG. More then likely we started talking because I shot you and you wanted to know where you could find the pictures from what ever event it was we met at and eventually made your way to my facebook page. This is where I post pretty much everything meant for the public. Private events and my own personal experiments almost never make it here so if you're looking for those shots contact me directly. I am a photographer, some people would even make the claim that I'm a good one. But I'm also a writer, a storyteller, a DM, an armchair historian, a facebook philosopher and a hundred other titles. I try not to spend my money on frivolous things so that I can use it to help explore the world. The way I figure it, I've only got, at best, 50 years left before I die and maybe only 30 or so left that I can use in that exploration. Everything I do is rooted in that desire to see. I want to do everything I can but that doesn't mean I want to do everything. I don't need to try meth to know its a bad idea no matter how good it makes you feel. I don't need to experience going to jail for a DUI to understand that getting tanked and then driving home is probably antithetical to my overall goals in life. I don't need to go into a warzone to understand that "War is hell" is more then just a catchy saying. I can learn form the examples of others and so can you. A lot of people forget that. The next big thing I want to begin exploring is scuba diving. I had originally planned on doing that over the course of the summer (of 2011) but a series of disasters ranging in severity from annoying inconvenience to minor tragedy kind of prevented me from doing that. They did serve as learning experiences though and I have become a much more patient person because of them.
