Eddie's Story
Life
My wife Karen (Buchanan - '86), Weaver (our chocolate lab) and I live out in the country" just a few minutes south of Chapel Hill, NC. We bought part of an old farm several years ago and built our house on it last year. We just had our first (and only) child in September; A daughter, Anna Christine, who has her daddy totally wrapped around her little finger.
Karen was working as a pharmacist for Durham county. She quit her job and is now a stay at home mom. I work for BlueCross BlueShield of NC as an IT Architect.
As of late, we spend most of our time taking care of Anna. Before Anna, we enjoyed traveling, sampling all the great restaurants in the triangle, Church, working around the house, Golf and pulling for the Heels! We look forward to doing these same things again very soon with our little Anna!
School
Where to begin...
Best memories are Rory and I cutting class to get into whatever mischief we could find. Running around with J, Valdy and Mock! And, drafting class with Coach Ro...Expand for more
gers.
Although I really enjoyed playing football, Band was more fun - cheerleaders always rode the band busses and there was always a "bottle to spin".
Loves and losses. I think of you often TN, I wish you did not have to leave us.
College
Attended A-B Tech to get my Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Later returned to UNCA to get my BS in Computer Science. Was in my senior year (after going at night for 4 years) when Karen (wife) was accepted to UNC-Chapel Hill PharmD program. We packed up and moved to Chapel Hill. I planned on going back to finish my BS in the Triangle, but, I had/have a really good job and the hours did/do not allow for attending classes.
Workplace
Like most people I am stressed out 99% of the time, overworked and underapprecaited. (My daughter will NOT work in computers or the technology industry!)
I have a good job, it provides very well for my family. But, it is very disruptive and unpredicatable for home life, difficult and stressful most of the time.
