After gradating high school I went to work with the North Carolina Department of Transportation. I worked full time with the Department from 1966 to 1998. During this time I did many things including construction surveying and roadway inspection. I was promoted to Assistant Resident Engineer in 1988 and Asphalt Quality Assurance Supervisor in 1996. orked part time with NCDOT until 2008, when all part timers were let go due to the economy. I was married in 1970, had one son and divorced in1983. I have two grandchildren a boy and a girl. I enjoy gardening, yard work, movies and working with computers. I still create excel spreadsheets for the asphalt quality assurance lab. In June I hope to get my first social security check
