Edith's Story
Life
It has been a crazy ride! I'm attending college, just finishing up on rehabing this old house, a widow with 2 boys still at home, 16 and 9, a grandma of 2, ages 7 and 2. Learning to do it by myself after 26 yrs of marriage. The single scene for the over 40 crowd is difficult, anyone have some suggestion? Living in the country with all the toys (ATV, etc.) and hiking keep things interesting. I worked for 20yrs in the travel industry, 9/11 took its toll and a year later our office closed, that and the death of my husband spurred me back to school. Found out I'm a good student and I liked school. Now I just need to figure out what I want to be when I grow up! strawberries and grape vines. I guess one might describe this area as "hillbilly heaven", but I found out living in Missouri there arent any hillbillies, there called "hoossiers" and frontage roads are called outer roads! The politics are different too. Who would of thought that a river and 200 years of history could make such a difference. Lived in the southern states of Louisiana, Georgia, and Alabama after graduation in "71", that was warm and wonderful. Owned a bar in Freeburg in the early 80's, this was good and bad. Went to work in a travel agency and became a travel agent, it was fun all in all. Life has been a slice and now I'm on a new adventure, don't know where it will take me, no map, no co-pilot, but I have plenty of gas!!!
