Edward's Story
Seems like the place for a short bio so... After graduation i succeeded in ending my stint at higher education in record time at Milwaukee School of Engineering and joined a fine crop of fellow drop outs in the Air Force. Radar School in Biloxi, Miss. and three years in Oregon at a radar site left me with a short lived marriage and two daughters.
Played aerospace gypsy for several years around the country landing me in San Antonio, Tx. for my second wife. We moved to the Pasadena, Ca. area and the Jet Propulsion Lab. where i've been for the last 37 years (6 yrs longer than the 2nd Mrs. Barlow but at least i got to keep our son). Have five grand children from daughter #2. Am now in a great relationship but no more marriages in my future.
Have the greatest job in the world for a kid that grew up loving science fiction. I build robots for NAS...Expand for more
A's Mars programs. Member & trainer with JPL's Urban Search And Rescue team (13 yrs). Spend my spare time volunteering with the local Red Cross chapter (12 yrs). Services to Armed forces. Past Emergency Services committee chair. Just received the national Clara Barton award.
Have been with my American Legion post (8 yrs) in several capacities. Am their only ever agnostic chaplain. As the Charter Rep. my scouts won the best in the Department of CA this year.
As to the old peoples topics.
Health: Paid for any athleticism i ever aspired to by having to get a new knee (09/08) and lost my prostrate (06/10), Not an activity related injury.
Sports: Enjoyed SCUBA, camping but gave up fishing, bow & gun hunting when i could finally afford to buy meat.
My Judy has now introduced me to wine tasting which i tend to treat it as a competitive sport.
