Edward's Story
I work as a Building Technologist at Simpson Gumpertz and Heger, which means I am something like a forensic architect. I go to buildings that have some sort of failure, usually leakage, and take them apart to find the problem. Then I design the fixes and make sure the contractor installs it correctly. SGH is a great company to work for, with good benefits, smart innovative people, and interesting projects.
Funny enough, my brother Erik works here also as a structural engineer. My hockey team is based from the office also, the team is 50% SGH'ers.

sure if anyone knew how friggin shy I was. I hated being in front of people trying to speak. My hands would shake, actually everything would shake including my voice. I would turn red and stammer over my words.
But then college came around and I made new friends that made me come out of whatever shell I was in. I misspent many an evening at bar karaoke with my friends in Boston. My hockey team would go out singing after games too. Now my wife and I do karaoke fairly often, she is also a great singer, we even sing when we are on vacation. This is why I am in a band now, singing, playing guitar (something I didn't do until college), writing songs, having fun.
