Edward"Nick"'s Story
Life
Born & raised in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn,NY. Moved to Kew Gardens, Queens in 1952, attended Seton Hall Prep, freshman year of high school, then Richmond Hill HS.Had to drop out of H.S. before graduation, joined the US Air Force, worked as a Air Policeman, got my GED , attended college while in the Air Force (Oct '56 thru Dec '59) and finished up after being discharged. Started to work for Royal-Globe Insurance, NYC Dec '59 till Dec 1965, then went with adjustment companies till August 1981, at which time I started working as a self employed insurance adjuster, right up to the present. Very happily married to a woman I love dearly, 4 grown kids, 5 grown stepkids, 10 grandsons, 1 granddaughter; residing in the Hudson Valley area of NY. Current interests are hunting, fishing, gun collecting, photography, gardening, home improvement projects, military history, and finding old friends from school and service on the internet.
School
Attended Holy Innocents grade school in Brooklyn,NY graduating in June 1952.Went to Seton Hall Prep, South Orange NJ for my freshman year, then Richmond Hill HS till June 1956.Dropped out of high school in 1956 to join the US Air Force, got my GED and took college courses while in service, with American Int'l College. Attended the College of Insurance in Manhattan finishing up my college education at night after leaving service.

endship, Me, as kitchen worker/laborer then counselor.Joined the US Air Force Oct 1956, worked as Air Policeman till Nov '59, performing security & law enforcement duties. Started to work for Royal Globe Insurance in NYC, working my way up from claim representative to supervisor. Went with a few adjustment companys starting in Dec '65, left Aug '81, and have been self employed as a independent insurance adjuster right up to the present
Military
Joined the US Air Force Oct '56 as a high school drop out, after basic at Lackland AFB, OJT'd as apprentice Air Policeman with the 323rd Air Police Squadron,Bunker Hill AFB, IN, working both security & main gate assignments. Got my GED while stationed there. Was then transferred to Shaw AFB, SC Aug '57, worked as senior Air Policeman, with the 363rd Air Police Squadron, mainly in security till March '58. I then shipped out to Lajes Field, Azores, performing various duties including Air Police desk, main gate, security, with the 1605th Air Police Squadron. Took hundreds of photos while there for 21 months, totally enjoyed the assignment. Was able to take college courses in the evenings while there. Overall, my time in the Air Force was most enjoyable and allowed me to further my education, travel and instilled in me, self discipline, a desire to further my education, and a life long feeling of patriotism and pride in having honorably served my country. Would do it again without a second thought.
