Edward's Story
After a somewhat undignified departure from Rutgers University I no longer had Ron Selby to cheat off of in Latin class. I went on to work for the City of New Brunswick Police Department. My dear and true friend Joe Sweeney was responsible for this travesty but that is another story. This career served me and my somewhat ADD personality well keeping me always interested in getting up and heading off to a new days work. I enjoyed 27 years serving a community I came to truely love and respect. The diversity of the community the vibrancy of the people and the strength of the neighborhoods left me with so many wonderfull memories and experiences. I retired in 2000 with the rank of Detective Sergeant and was responsible for supervising the Crime Scene Unit and Criminal Identification Bureau. After retirement I continue to feed my addiction for adrenaline by driving terribly fun but unreliable English sports cars ( 1977 TVR) and motorcycles (Triumph Trophy 1200), flying airplanes and SCUBA diving the world. I have had the pleasure of Diving in Thailand, the Phillipines, "Aruba, Bonaire, Curacoa, Mexico and the Florida Keys. The Caymans, Turks, Australia and Micronesia are on our short list of new adventures. I am accompanied in my various expiditions by my wife of over 25 years Beth. me small amount of mental illness that runs in her family which may explain why she continues to put up with me. We have raised 2 wonderfull daughters Kirsten and Bethanne, both of whom are now married and living in Pa and wondering what their mom and dad are up to today. They have blessed us with 2 wonderfull grand children, Kirstens daughter Veronica (Nica for short) and Bethannes son Caleb (CJ for short) and they hope to get Beth and I to slow down a bit and take at least a few less risks. Also an update on what we are up to. I have begun training for my commercial and certified flight instructors ratings and should finish it up this spring or early summer. A new airplane, at least to us is now sitting at Alexandria Airfield not 2 miles from our home, we are trying hard to do a complete restoration on this terrific Baby Beechcraft, N2534W is a 1974 Beech Sierra. We have done alot of the preliminary work to bring it up to snuf, including some of the newest and best avionics available to us.. Now mostly we will concentrate on the paint and interior as we find the money to finish it up. Not a completely new adventure as Beth and I have flown for years and have owned planes in the past. We do think this will be our last airplane, this one unlike the last 4 will be only for our use and not part of a business. I would love to hear from any of my friends and classmates who might still want to keep in touch so please write.
