Nancy's Story
Hi Class of '86 .... I haven't visited this site in quite some time now, so thought I would do a quick update.
This June (2008) my husband and I will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary! We have two beautiful children. Our daughter will be 18 this year and our son just recently turned 13. Two teenagers now!! :-) Both of them are a true blessing and certainly keep us busy. We still live in Charlotte right on the border of Mt. Island Lake and Huntersville.
Our daughter will graduate high school next year (2009). It's very hard to believe she will be leaving home soon and going off to college. She outgrew me many years ago - it's rather funny that I'm right at 5 feet tall and my daughter is 5' 11" .... try bossing someone around that's taller than you - not an easy task :-). She obviously gets her height from her Dad and her sassy attitude after me! She has the best sense of humor. When things get stres...Expand for more
sful, she's the one that can always gets us to laugh and not be so serious.
Our son is in middle school - one more year and he will be going to high school. He's the spitting image of his Dad. We have had our struggles with him. Our son was born with Cerebral Palsy. He's such a little trooper. His life has presented so many challenges, but he is the happiest little guy you will ever meet. He's truly taught us to slow down and realize what's important in life and what's not. He's not able speak or walk, but he has a smile that will just melt your heart.
My husband is a stay-at-home Dad. I don't know of many Dad's that would make the sacrifice that he has. He's been full time stay-at-home Dad for 13 years now. Our son requires much assistance and it's been a blessing that one of us can be at home full time.
So, life after West Meck has been a wonderful and crazy roller coaster ride to say the least :-).
