Eileen's Story
Eileen's schools include Washington High School. She later attended The University of Arizona. I married Anthony (Tony) Yeung in 1969 after graduating from college. He was finishing his last year of medical school at the University of New Mexico. We returned to Phoenix where he completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery. He served as orthopedic surgeon at Subic Naval Base in the Philippines where we were stationed for two years just right after the Vietnam war.
I have two children, Christopher (44) and Kimberly (41) and five grandchildren in Phoenix. My son is a spine surgeon practicing with my husband and my daughter is a dermatologist. My husband invented the Yeung Endoscopic Spine System and has refined the technique for minimally invasive spine surgery on an outpatient basis. He ...Expand for more
lectures and demonstrates his procedure internationally.
I am an active community volunteer having served on the boards of the Phoenix Art Museum, Asian Arts Council support organization of the Phoenix Art Museum, Maricopa County and Arizona State Medical Society Auxiliaries and the American Medical Association Auxiliary board of directors, the Junior League of Phoenix. I am currently working with Key to the Cure which benefits TGen's research for breast cancer. We recently funded the Anthony T and Eileen K Yeung Endoscopic Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of New Mexico which will teach minimally invasive spine surgery in a multidisciplinary setting. I enjoy seeing my grandchildren, traveling with my husband, and hope to do more quilting soon as I hope to spend more time at home.
