Eileen's Story
Life
I've been living on a 160 acre ranch for 30+ yrs and loving it! We ran a local organic foods co-op for 18 years ...before it was cool. My husband (of 32 yrs.)Joseph and I enjoy the pristine river in our back canyon, while making pottery & bust sculpture in our home studio. Recently, I trained in forensic facial reconstruction. During the Holiday season, we travel the west and have been as far as Europe, to trade shows selling our wares. I designed and published our brochures and web site- professionalmuggers.com We also have an eBay store. In the spring and summer I teach ceramics locally when I'm not traveling to Hawaii, Greece or Mexico.
Machu Pichu and Argentina are on my bucket list.
Well, It has been a tough few years.. My brother Rob, my husband Joseph and my dad passed away within 16 months of each other.. Rob was...Expand for more
a quadriplegic for 34 years so his passing was not unexpected. What a life and he made the most of it with the devotion of my parents.
Sad to say, Joseph was a dedicated smoker so his lungs gave out. He was a paradox in that he believed in organic food, no red meat etc. It was a bittersweet time care giving him while he gave me "widow" lessons of how to maintain the ranch.
Finally, Dad was an active 8o+ orchid grower (hobby) who built his friends greenhouses and was Pres of 2 orchid clubs and belonged to 4. He was politically active and was up and out by 6:00am. His passing was not unexpected at 80+ but still surprising. He began to cough and couldn't stop for 6 months. He had a cancer that was "undetermined".
So now I'm considering leaving the ranch. Hard to meet new folks out here and it's time to Carry On. A New Chapter.
