Eileen's Story
Life
After attending Barnstable High School, I decided to remain on Cape Cod to attend Cape Cod Community College earning an Associates in Liberal Arts. Then I decided to check out Pennsylvania, because my brother lived there. I earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration at Gwynedd-Mercy College. After finishing my Bachelors degree, I looked for jobs in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. It took me a year to get a full-time job at the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. I had scored 98 on the civil service exam. I started out as a Clerk III, then worked my way up to Planning Assistant, Regional Planner I and finally Regional Planner II. f law school at Suffolk University. All the Regional Planner Is and IIs were laid off at DEP in June/July 2003. It took six months to find my job as Office Manager for the Urban Scholars Program at the University of Massachusetts. Eleven years ago I met my husband Jeff Dranetz at a Star Trek Convention featuring James Doohan at the Cape Codder Hotel. Jeff and I have celebrated our 10th Anniversay in October of 2005.
College
I hated my college roommate. She wanted to throw me out of "my" room to have sex with her New Jersey boyfriend every few days. She was a diabetic yet stole my chocolate. She stayed up really late hours when I wanted to go to sleep. We lasted one semester as roommates. I never had another roommate.
