Elaine's Story
Where to begin? Forty five years is a very long time to catch up.
After graduation from Cox in 1965, I moved to Washington DC, attended business school and lived there for two years.
When I graduated from that business school, I moved to a small town in SW Virginia, Martinsville (near Roanoke) to begin working for Stanley Furniture Manufacturing Company as a computer programmer. There I met and married my husband of 30 years. We have three wonderful sons (Todd-36, Brad-35, and Drew-31) and three adorable grandchildren (Conner-7, Lainee-2, and Anna-1). I lost my husband in 1998 to asbestos cancer which he contracted from Newport News Shipyard. We lived in Newport News for a couple of years after we married.

he children were very young receiving my bachelor's in Computer Information Systems and Masters in Computer Studies. Currently I am teaching at a small four year liberal arts school, Ferrum College in Ferrum, VA. This is my first year of phased retirement(2009) which is wonderful. I will teach part time for three years after which I will fully retire.
I enjoy travel experiences, spending time with my sons and grandchildren, watching good movies, excursions with my friends and most anything else that comes up and sounds like fun.
It's great getting back in touch with old friends recently and remembering days gone by. I'm planning on coming to the October reunion. . .not sure how many will be there that I know but looking forward to it.
