Elaine's Story
After Shippensburg State college I realized I didn't want to be a teacher. I'm glad I took library science as my minor. After years of working for the IRS and the Aviation Supply Office in Philadelphia I married and had 2 daughters. One is in Albany, N.Y. and the other in Asheville, N.C. No grandchildren. When the youngest started kindergarten I started volunteering at the Southampton library then got a job at the Northampton library in Richboro, PA. Despite the fact that I still really liked working there, I retired after 23 years in July 2012 since there were many other things I was interested in doing.or just kept me busy. One is being the volunteer bookkeeper and payroll person for our church, a Unitarian Universalist fellowship. I'm interested...Expand for more
in photography and have documented many vacations, mostly to national parks and a few in the last couple years to Europe. I'm in the process of converting my gardens to native plants, shrubs and trees as I've always been "tree-hugger". Being inclined as I always was for volunteering, I started working at the election polls in November and signed up again.
I started taking some "senior" classes at Del Val college, one being genealogy and hope to find the time to start researching family history. Thought that I might want to get another part time job in a library, so I started volunteering at Southampton again in case they have an opening.
I missed the last reunion that was for several classes together and hope to see a few "old" school friends this time.
