* Graduated Tallmadge High School 1973. (Business Office Education). Attended business college for Legal Secretary education. * 1976 Got married and moved to New England. * Saw several Tall Ships Parades in New England. * I built two ship models: Thermopylae- a British tea clipper famous for racing the Cutty Sark across the ocean and the USS Constitution (Old Ironsides) now residing in Boston Harbor. *Highlights of my artistic endeavors: * Drew a portrait for Beauty Salon ad that ran in the Yellow Pages for 10 years. * Trip to Budapest, Hungary and Vienna, Austria via the Danube River. * Invited (by Goodyear) to ride in the Goodyear Blimp over the Connecticut River and Hartford. * After years of painting miniature scenes on smooth stones (I really liked the texture), decided to pursue Egg Artistry. I prefer diarama-style, cutting the shells with high-speed air drill and creating tiny scenes inside with dried greenery, flowers, figurines, sand, personalizing it if it's a gift. Outer decor would be all types of cording usually gold along with Swarovski crystals and gold-plated stands. Hinges can be used for jewelry boxes or doors. Lights, music boxes and clock movements can also be used. *Joined the International Egg Art Guild. *Commissioned by American Egg Board, Chicago, to decorate an egg representing Connecticut for White House Easter 1999. Included personal tour of White House. * Saw the cherry blossoms in bloom Washington DC. * Commissioned by the Governor of Connecticut and the White House to create an ornament for the Blue Room Christmas tree representing an animal indigenous to Connecticut. I made an Eastern Screech Owl from several goose eggs. The wings opened like an angel. Invited to White House Christmas party. Met Laura Bush and our picture was taken with her by WH photographer. - 2002. * Commissioned by CowParade Corp. (Hartford) to pain...Expand for more
t/decorate two cows for Boston CowParade 2006. The standing cow was painted like a Holstein cow. Each black area was a frame for each painting of historical location/building/or event of The Freedom Trail - 16 in all. It was titled The Freedom Trail, Holstein Style. The reclining cow I attached a frame to be an island cliff and constructed the Boston Lighthouse. Titled Boston "Bossie" Lighthouse. The lower part of cow is all ocean. Details on face and neck include scrimshaw, a rose compass, mother-of-pearl inner ear, and waves for eyelashes. Nautical flags spell out Boston Harbor around neck framed with rope. Also a buoy hanging under throat like necklace. Tiny shells as bracelets and base-of-ear decorations. In the water are real, very tiny starfish, a seahorse, jellyfish, coral and sea plants. Cavorting dolphins and a school of fishies that just so happen to resemble my pets at the time. Even a tiny treasure chest nearby. My cows were sponsored by Marriot Boston Long Wharf which is right on Boston Harbor. All cows were on display in the streets of Boston for several months before being auctioned off to benefit the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. My cows raised over $10,000. * Visited Prince Edward Island, Canada on vacation. * Love Pug dogs. I have had three over the years. Also three parrots and a parakeet. * Three kids Valerie, Kim and Steve. * After 38 years in beautiful Connecticut, now residing in Cape Coral, Florida (Gulf side) * Rode in an airboat through the mangroves and alligators. * Favorite jobs; working the Auction Block at Southern Auto Auction (E. Windsor, Connecticut) * Driving brand new vehicles of all kinds all over New England and New York (airports JFK, La Guardia) for Avis at Bradley International Airport, Hartford, Connecticut. *Dream cars I owned: Audi 5000 and Acura Legend. * Survived the eye of Hurricane Irma in 2017.
