Elaine's Story
Life
Went back to Helena, MT in 59 after my dad died. Met elementary school classmate, George Harris and married him 4/2/60/ Moved to Idaho Falls as newlyweds and have lived here since. George retired from Western/Delta airlines in 1998. I spent 22 years in the credit union industry and became a "CUDE" Credit Union Development Educator. Left for "a change" in 2000 and worked for a new Hospice organization. Decided to "retire" Jan, 2002 and love it!
I have 3 kids (one son, two daughters), 4 grands (one girl, 3 boys) and 2 great grands (boys) as of this update 11/2014. Our daughters live here in I.F. and our son is in Tulsa.
I am active in First Evangelical Lutheran Church (LCMC), singing in the choir, sewing with the Happy Stitchers quilting group, and have been a Stephen's Minister since 2008.
George's retirement still provides great travel benefits for us, and we travel a few times a year to visit our son in Tulsa and...Expand for more
granddaughter and family in Pensacola. I have made several trips alone to Aurora, staying with Vyna and Dave. Stand-by travel is not much fun anymore but "the price is right" as the saying goes.
George stays active with his golf buds and volunteers in church functions as often as I sign him up !
We like getting together with friends for morning coffee and playing card games on occasion. We get together with our kids as often as possible, and look forward to Holidays because that seems to be the only time everyone makes the effort to be together. Life is too busy !
We feel very blessed to have many friends, near and far and we still see siblings at least once a year.Baby sister, Dona,and brothers, Matt and Cliff are in Montana, and Edwina is in southern MN. George has one brother still living in Montana that we see also.
Life is good and we are both in "relatively" good health at 75. My, how did we get this old !
