Elaine's Story

Life Help! I'm living in the middle of nowhere rural Pennsylvania!! Remember the ol' tune Camptown Races? Well that's where I'm living, the beginning of the Endless Mountains. Married to a great guy, educated architect, turned sculptur, practicing contractor. Six terrific kids, four boys and two beautiful girls; Philip 15, Lukas 11, Will 10, Max 7, Sophie 4, and Maggie 8 mo. Live life on 11o acres of farm. forest and spend my summer vacations sailing in Maine with a great circle of friends. Having a pretty good life! So I spent an hour updating this story last night (it was a very witty and interesting piece) but apparently you cannot give any email or website info so alas, it did not save. The long and short of it: we are all almost eight years older now. 3/4/08 Yesterday my eldest son turned 23. I hardly remember him at 15. We are still in Pennsylvania on the farm. Chris is still as described above but eight years older. Luki is finishing up his freshman year at the University of the Arts (UArts) in Philadelphia. He is studying theatre arts there. Will was just accepted into the honors college at Drexel University in Philadelphia. He will be studying Film and Video. Stefan has made the astute observation that all of his interests lie in the arts field and that very little of those careers promise good money. So, I ask, "Well, Sefan, what do you think you will ...Expand for more
become in that case?" He tells me he thinks he will become a philosoher. And the money in that is....?? Phil is getting married in July to Sarah, his high school sweetheart. He graduates from Keystone College and she graduates from Penn State this year. Sarah will continue on with an internship and masters program somewhere between Philadelphia, Boston, or Long Island. The location is determined by a lottery somewhat akin to the NFL draft.!? I work two jobs and spend any spare job substituting at the parochial school in Towanda. My full-time job is with Keystone College as their site coordinator for the Towanda Center. My favorite job is Program Director for the Bradford County Regional Arts Council in Towanda. Check us out on the web. I would give you the website, but I know where that will lead (see above). I have not seen much of Battle Creek since my father died in December of 2005 form lung cancer. I have not been in contact with many "flakes" from the Creek (I mean that with the utmost respect). I did see Yolanda Kime's profile with Syracuse University, very impressive. I have read most of the bios from BCCHS calss of 1980 and that brought back some humorous memories and stories. Life is good. I hope all is as well with everyone else. (Not so witty or interesting this time, but at least you get the story!) Stop by if you are ever in this neck of Penn's Woods!
