Elena's Story
Life
I moved to the Boston area in 1993 where I've been teaching at Wellesley College ever since. I live five miles from campus in a renovated farm house with my husband, Mark, and son, Skylar. We have one horse (who came with us from California), one cat, and one blue betta fish.

ded the hot dry Santa Ana winds and golden hills for vibrant fall colors, summer humidity, and almost five months of cold, gray winter weather.
I treasure my memories of growing up in Riverside in the late 1960s and 1970s--before all the strip malls and developed housing mushroomed across the wide open fields. I'm still in love with Riverside and its unique landscape, quirky history, and abundant characters and try to travel home at least twice a year to visit my family still there.
