• University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, N.C., U.S.A., Master of Public Health (MPH) with honours, 1973; and several other post graduate diplomas in helth planning and managment.
Work Experiences:
• Civil Affairs Officer, UNMIK – KOSOVO (Current since Sept. 2000 to date); Municipality level Civil Administration covering the areas of Health, Education, Culture, Sports and Youth; Economic Development and Project Officer, Budget and Finance Officer and currently Officer in Charge for UN mission at municipality level. I have made outstanding contributions and gained recognitions in project development and implementation, development of education, including successful interventions in interethnic relations, integration and other civil administration issues.

• Assistant Professor (3/87-3/92, fulltime and later on part time basis) and Lecturer (7/70-8/79) both at the Gonder Public Health College and the Addis Ababa Faculty of Medicine, Addis Ababa University. Areas of teaching and research included health education/behaviour change, planning and management of health care, promotion and advocacy for Primary Health Care, community involvement and inter-sectoral linkages in health development, and the development, appraisal monitoring and evaluation of health projects/programs. Teaching included under-graduate medical and public health students as well as MPH candidates at the graduate level.
• District Health Officer (1968-70), at Hossana Health Centre. Responsibilities included full load of clinical and public health practice, administration of the health centre, and management of the district health care system.
