Elijah's Story
Life
Growing older, not young with time on my side anymore, more focused on future possibilities and how decisions made now have more of an impact on later years. Life is comfortable now, very established in career chosen-Graphic Design and all that it entails. Have made mistakes and learned from them. When I see people from years past, makes me feel very good especially when they are doing very well and taking care of themselves. Seems like whenever I go home-Longview,TX, all I hear is bad news-someone died, on drugs or in jail. Makes me not want to visit as much. Have 1 child from past relationship and wife does also. Pleased how my life turned out, nothing that truly matters is easy, that phrase holds true to so many things-marriage, children, career and religion among other things. eflected on possibilities for me, seem to be doing it more now. Each decision counts more now than it used to. Couldn't wait to graduate high school, now wondering how everyone's doing-hope okay and blessed. Kids growing fast, miss having them small, so I can pick them up and play games, but will be glad to get them out of my wallet. Seems as though time is speeding up, gray hair coming in more steadily now in beard. Enjoying things I once couldn't care less about-gardening, landscaping my yard, painting my walls, laying my own ceramic and marble tile on my floors and walls, just me and my kids, doing the whole thing. Just standing back and looking at the results, its amazing what different situations in life brings out of you that you are not aware of. Like the results, makes you feel good when people come to visit. Now I understand when I was a kid why our neighbor, an elderly woman who lived across the street, didn't like our kickball coming over her fence and in her flowers. Understand the hard work that goes into something, that now is so gratifying.
