Elise's Story
Hi,
Since High School, I kept my self busy attending SRJC for 2 1/2 years earning my AS in Ag. Business. I then transferred to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for my bachelors degree in Ag Business Management. However, I left before I could finish because of finances. Coming home, I spent the next 10 years working in retail clothing stores, learning bookkeeping, and finally settling in working in the wine industry. I loved the atmosphere and the farming applications to fine winemaking. I married and had one son. Then my marriage fell apart after those 10 years and became a single mom.
Being a single mom is my most challenging role of my life. I really loved learning and riding horses before my son was born but I had to give up that passion to devote my time and energy to my son and having a secure and loving home. Casey, my son, has taught me so much about life and "walking your talk", and just living simply. Showing him the simple joys in life has helped him look at this world through more practical eyes.
Yes, I am still single - I just haven't found that one "true" love. He's out there, somewhere but we just haven't run into each other yet.
Getting back to my education, I did finish my business degree while raising my son and working full time by attending online classes through the University of Phoenix. This was my biggest accomplishment - earning my Bachelors degree in business administration - truly multi tasking.
Currently, I am doing accounting for a large grape grower in the Napa Valley. I love it here and get to meet and experience all that the Napa Valley is known for.
