Elise Martin:  

My Life Hi, Since graduation, life has been busy. I married my husband David in 1986, and we had our son Matt in 1991. We lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for six years and moved back to the Kansas City area in 1998. We now live in Lee's Summit. Over the years I have done a number of things. I have owned my own business, worked in the finance industry, gone back to school, and been a stay at home mom. I write and serve in a lay Bible Study Ministry in the Metro area as an administrator. This is supposed to be a life bio, so I was thinking about what my life has been like over the years since graduation. I have had a lot of bad days, and sad days, and days where I just wanted to hide. I have lost both of my parents, and my brother and sister and I live in different parts of the country. I have gone through depression and fear and hopelessness. I have also known joy, and had adventure and laughed a lot and been filled with hope in spite of bad circumstances. I received Jesus Christ as my Savior at the age of 28 during one of the darkest times in my life. Why is it that it takes a major catastrophe to get us to pay attention to God? He brought me through it and today I live with the assurance that no matter what, I rest in the palm of His hand. I don't own a new chopper, but I do own a new scooter and its bright yellow. :) I love to camp, (these days in a pop-up), and to swim. Reading is something I have always loved to do and I write as well. I am currently working on a project that I hope will be done before I am old and gray. Well that is a bite size slice of my life. I didn't get to know many people at my graduating high school when I went there. My mom was sick and dying. It was a hard year for me. My attitude back then was to get it over and done with.
