Elizabeth's Story
Hi classmates,
I can't believe how much time has passed by. Last March, 2014 I filed and ran for County Clerk, it was a great learning experience, although an expensive one. Brent was great, supportive, putting up signs, lots of legwork, he's a special guy and I'm blessed and know it. .Met a lot of real nice people and a lot of them continue to be friends. White Pine County has a closed ballot system so unless all your supporters are the same party they can't vote for you, amazingly quite a few people changed their party to vote for me-very humbling. The primary in June was off to a good start, but just like California Chrome I ended in third. Looking ahead though considering filing for County Commissioner in March and if I should win then I will retire from my state job.
My kids and grand-kids are in the Carson City area while Brent's oldest daughter Monica and her husband and two son's now live in Denver and his youngest daughter Traci and her husband continue in Tampa Florida. Traci will make us grandparents again in December.
My son Bobby and his wife Michelle continue to live in Carson City. Bobby has two daughters 17 year old Taylor in High School she will turn 18 in December and Hope she turned 3 this past May. Taylor continues in track excelling in her events as well as an A student.
My daughter Michelle and her family continue t...Expand for more
o make their home in Dayton. My oldest granddaughter McKensie is stationed at Ft Bragg a member of the 82nd Airborne-whoa, my kids and grand-kids are getting old on me. McKensie's brother Ryan graduated from Dayton High School in 2014 and is currently working and attending WNC in Carson City. Their sister Alaura is in High School she is a go-getter, excellent grades and all around athlete as well as playing clarinet in the school band; her goal is UNLV. Their youngest brother Shea is in fifth grade this year and is quite the reader; Shea continues to play soccer. Bet you couldn't tell I am a very proud mom and grandma :p
For fun we still golf, play darts, shoot pool; we enjoy 50's, 60's and 70's music along with some country thrown in and Christian music; we ride our 4-wheelers and now a Polaris Razr 520 all over the hills around our home, we have a travel trailer and enjoy camping and every chance I get I love to read only now it's on a Kindle.
Going to be in Fernley for the reunion in a couple weeks- July 2015, wonder how many will be there? The sad thing about starting school as the new kid when you're a Sophomore is that you don't know anybody, add being shy and it's even harder; that was me when I started in 1970. Not the shy kid anymore, but not the in-your-face type of person either. Hope to see and meet new people, see you then.
