I have worked as a psychiatric nurse since 1986. I spent 9 years working with children at Camarillo State Hospital. Then worked with severely mentally ill adults in Santa Barbara County, also had the opportunity to return to working with children while in Santa Barbara. t provides mental health services to the severly mentally ill homeless. I love my job...I have to think on my feet and have the autonomy to make decisions, plus I work with a great team of people who are dedicated to this type of work. I still love this work after all these years because I get to work with heros everyday. People with mental illness that have the courage to deal with it inspire me to keep doing what I do.
