Elizabeth's Story

Life Since I received my GED instead of graduating, I had a tough time trying to figure out where I fit in in the high school listings. Do I put my last high school in Clearwater,Florida? No, I hated being there and wanted to be back in NJ even back then. I found every reason to not get to class while there, why be linked to the place now! I moved to Lakewood when I was in 4th grade and left during my freshman year of high school. I have great memories of my old neighborhood, my classmates and all the growing up I did while living there. Chorus and band were the greatest times for me. I needed that outlet and I remember Lakewood Schools as having a wonderful music program. My family moved to Point Pleasant and I lost touch with a lot of my friends from Lakewood. One of my biggest regrets was not staying in closer contact with my friends. I am sure I am not unique in that feeling, but since I am not a Lakewood Alumni I will not get the chance to catch up with those old friends at LHS reunions. One of the smartest things I ever did was to marry my college sweetheart in 1991. After graduating from Ramapo College, I was a preschool teach...Expand for more
er until I had my first son in 1997. Now we have two boys ( #2 was born in 1999)and live in North Jersey. I am planning to return to work soon as my youngest son is about to enter Kindergarten. Right now I am deciding whether to return to the classroom and teach or work in the the school library. Sometimes I am amazed at how long it has been since high school...I don't FEEL that old! Shoot me an email and we can keep in touch! Hope everyone is well. School We seemed to move so often, I don't think I could remember all of the schools I attended. Lakewood Middle School is the school I have the best memories from. Band & chorus were my favorite classes throughout Middle school and high school. College Ramapo... what can I say? I grew up in college and met some wonderful friends. Going to a small college was great, I never felt lost in the crowd. Not that I didn't try to get lost in the crowd a few times :) I miss many of my friends from college. We all went in different directions after graduation. Wouldn't it be nice to have a college reunion? Without a football team and homecoming, there is no time to get together, is there? Hmmm
