Elizabeth's Story
The last 29 years have been full of adventure with something different around every corner.
I drove truck over the road in 48 states and Canada all total, about 13 years. I also did some bartending off and on through the years.
I lived in Arlington, NE out in the country for a few years in the late 70's/early 80's, and then eventually moved to Denver, CO. I came back to Fremont and bought a little house where I lived for 11 years. The last move I made was to a 6 acre farm not too far from Prague,NE. I was managing a wholesale bakery at the time of the move, but I went on to work for Hormel in Fremont which lasted for 10 years. The last 5 years working there I mainly ran different machines, but I had numerous surgeries on my hands and arms resulting in permanent nerve damage, and it came to the point and realization that I could no longer do any of the jobs there.
In the fall of 2005 I started full time at Metropolitan Community College and did the long commute to Elkhorn and Fort O. campuses to finally do what had been in my heart for...Expand for more
ever. Last year I graduated with an Associate of Applied Science for Graphic Communication Arts & Design. It's awesome. I can now make use and interweave my fine art and literature into the computer graphics portion and really mix it up with some fun direction. I have a full running studio at home as well as a very nice job with my own hours, in Fremont. I've won awards for numerous creations, had my works displayed at the Hotshops, Beemis to name a few, and been published a couple of times as well. Painting, illustrations, sculpting, and building/constructing things are among my favorites.
My other interests include my pets. I have 2 Harlequin Macaws, 1 Greenwing Macaw, 1 Umbrella Cockatoo, & 1 Lutinu Cockatiel. I also have 3 dogs. I'm still very much a "gear head" and who doesn't like a nice ride? The most recent car I bought was a Lincoln, and I liked it so well that I built a custom garage for it. The garage ended up shown in the Fremont Tribune, but not the car!
In my spare time....I think about what project I want to do next.
