Hello, Classmates On Student Government Day in 1971 at LHHS, I had the opportunity to experience being a Counselor, Academic Advisor and Employment Counselor in the Guidance Department, all of which were interwoven into my professional life. I retired from CT. State employment as a Rehab Counselor with 32 years in 2009 which included time spent in CT Departments of Labor, Education, Human Resources and Social Service where I served 11 High Schools over the years. Four years after recovering from cancer, I felt like I wanted to experience a new chapter venturing outside of Wallingford. My family was game, so we sold our home on Ben CT Wallingford in 2002, to move to Windsor Locks. Steve Lumb('72) and I ended our 30 year marriage there. I moved to CypressTX. in 2010, Windham, CT in 2012 and now I own a nearly 200 yo restored home on the National Register in Hebron. I taught online from 2010-2015 for Post U and have had several contracts as Vocational Consultant for a non profit in Norwich, Hartford and Middletown where I developed a Vocational Rehab Start Up Manual, a Vocational Exploration and Employment Curriculum and Staff Training since returning to CT. In TX I enjoyed being a Workforce Academic Advisor at Lone Star College Cyfair. My first venture after state retirement was at the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation as a Rehab Counselor from 09-10 which was a unique experience. I continue to be licensed as an LPC in CT. My children are doing well, living independently in Marin County CA and Providence RI. My daughter and I appreciate being close enough for monthly visits.
